 | Higginsville was founded in 1869 by Harvey Higgins, for whom the town is named. Today, we have grown into a city of approximately 5,000 individuals. Once known for our German and agricultural heritage, we have become much more diverse in the last 50 years. We are proud of our residents, city government, school system, numerous civic organizations, churches, park system, active business community and a host of other assets that make life here very rich.
