Ambulance
The Higginsville Ambulance Service responds to emergencies 24 hours a day. Staff are licensed by the State of Missouri and take refresher classes on the latest emergency care procedures on a regular basis. Our community is served by E911 (emergency telephone system). The emergency medical staff offer public classes on CPR and first aid training, EMT training, fire fighting (Fire Fighter One), ACLB (Advance Cardiac Life Support), and CEU for EMT's and paramedics.
Fire and Rescue
The Higginsville Fire and Rescue is an all volunteer department funded by the City of Higginsville and the Higginsville Rural Fire Association.
Police Department
The Higginsville Police Department has 9 full time and 8 reserve officers. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day. The department has officers trained in crime scene investigation and some are members of the Crisis Action Team. The Higginsville Police Department has an active D.A.R.E. program with a Law Enforcement Day in the spring. Complete with 5 full time and 8 reserve dispatchers, the dispatch centers answers 911 call dispatching police, ambulance and fire not only to Higginsville but for other cities in the county as well. The Higginsville Police Department also has a full time animal control officer.
